National
A cross-institutional consortium is responsible for the GGP and for preparing and conducting the GGS surveys in Austria. This national network consists of
• Austrian Institute for Family Studies (ÖIF) (University of Vienna),
• Vienna Institute of Demography (VID) (Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften),
• Department of Sociology (University of Vienna),
• Department of Demography (University of Vienna),
• Department of Sociology and Cultural Studies (University of Salzburg).
The GGP-Austria is listed in the Forschungsinfrastruktur-Datenbank of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research. This should contribute to an increased visibility of the GGP for research in Austria and abroad as well as a stronger research network for new projects and co-operations. With regard to data protection and data utilisation, the national GGP team cooperates with AUSSDA and the Register Research Platform (Registerforschung).

The international coordination and central organisation are carried out by the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI). The internationally harmonised database (CDB – Contextual Database) is hosted by the French National Institute for Demographic Studies (INED). The research data are integrated into the CESSDA-network and part of the European Open Science Data Cloud (EOSC).
Since 2021, the GGP has the status of an ESFRI research infrastructure. The ESFRI roadmap (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures) is a strategic document that identifies important research infrastructures in Europe. ESFRI infrastructures are key elements of sustainable research and research infrastructure development in Austria and in Europe. They have modern organisational structures and special research services which, in addition to the return flow of knowledge and know-how to Austria, also achieve enormous economic, social and societal impacts. Therefore, the GGP is also part of the Austrian "Forschungsinfrastruktur-Aktionsplan 2030 (PDF, 642 KB)“.
